Central Asia Restaurant

If you fancy something different, why not try this Uzbek restaurant - great flavours at an affordable price point and conveniently located in the centre of the city. It's also available to order on Grab - the food delivery app!

Location: Jalan Yap Kwan Seng

Price: £

ReviewWe ordered the beef noodle soup, traditional Uzbek rice dish also known as plov, somsa – pastry filled with mince meat and horse meat sausage covered with puff pastry. The highlight was the plov – the sweetness from the raisins and carrots combined with the fattiness from the meat – absolutely delicious!

Five Guys - Pavilion Mall

Location: Bukit Bintang

Price: £££

Review: A worldwide chain which had been on our list to try and with the favourable exchange rates (MYR v GBP) we couldn’t give it a miss. A decent smash burger, accompanied by fries and the Five Guys infamous strawberry milkshake – very indulgent but expected!

Nasi Kandar Pelita

Location: Jalan Ampang

Price: £

Review: A canteen style restaurant which makes a great option for breakfast to fuel up for the day, conveniently located in the centre of the city. We tried the murtabak and roti canai with a selection of curries as well as some fried chicken and fish as recommended by one of the members of staff.  We also teh tarik – a staple especially at breakfast which finished the meal off perfectly.

Toast Box

Location: Jalan Yap Kwan Seng

Price: £

Review: A Singaporean chain which has branches dotted around Kuala Lumpur. Another great option for breakfast – offering an array of bakery items, kaya toast (a must try when in Malaysia) and nasi lemak which we had to try. They are also known for their Nanyang style Kopi (coffee) which we also ordered – a great way to start the day with a caffeine boost.
